A classic red stem plant. It has strikingly beautiful red leaves that contrast well with other Green stem plants, a great stem plant to use if you would like to add some red color among your stem plants. It is slightly more demanding and strong light and CO2 is a big plus.

Tissue culture plants should be removed from the cup as soon as possible. All plants grow on some sort of synthetic growing medium, ranging anywhere from liquid to jelly to firm gel. This should be removed and rinsed off. Gently massage the roots between your fingers until the gel dissolves away. Most plants can be broken up into smaller pieces and spread out in your aquarium. Smaller pieces are easier to plant.
I got about 15 stems from my cup. I planted them on the back of my 40 gallon tank where the substrate is over 4 inches deep. I built my substrate with DTE 444 organic fertilizer, peat moss based top soil, and fine gravel cap. I did soak my soil mixture thoroughly before putting in the tank. I cycled my tank with fish, snails, and filter medium from existing tank. They took off within a week and grows about 1 inch per week. I run CO2 and Fluvial 3.0 on my tank. However their leaves are still green. I am thinking about adding iron fertilizer once I had my algae under control.
