Using guidance from PondGuru (youtube), I pimped this filter for my 25 gal (100 L) goldfish hex tank with biohome ultimate media. Though it’s over-sized for the current aquarium, it will go onto their 100 gal (400 L) tank when it arrives. The adjustable flow and the spray bar have kept my plants happy (Anubias sp., Echinodorus sp., Microsorum sp.); the water current is low enough for show goldfish and the plants are exceptionally healthy. The water chemistry is nearly perfect and the nitrates are getting lower each week! What did I do with my former Tidal 35 filter? I put in rooted basil plants that are growing hydroponically in the filter media and pumice stones. When I feed the goldfish, I get fresh basil for breakfast! Maybe I’ll grow spinach next and feed the goldfish as well! A wonderful system and easy to maintain. Oh, and it’s quiet with a soft hum of the impeller.
I ordered the Hydor 350. When it arrived the out flow pipe on the motor was smashed where the tap would not fit onto it. I emailed Hydor and they replaced the part free of charge and had it to me within the week. This is my first canister filter and I love it. I did change the filters in it based on Pondguru's (Youtube) suggestions and it works great. Love this filter. My tank has never looked better. And the price was wonderful. I'm so glad I found Aqua Lab Aquaria. Great place to buy things.
This system is great
I am very happy with the item. I couple things I don't care for but not even worth mentioning. Received item in 8 days and free shipping. Would order from ALA again and highly recommend the Hydor filter.
