Kevin Kohen is a legend in the marine livestock world and is the main guy behind the extremely popular online livestock company, LiveAquaria. Here is a behind the scenes look at their facility and several of their display tanks at the headquarters in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
Interesting takeaways from the video:
-The Cirrhilabrus genus of wrasse, also known as fairy wrasses, are particularly well suited for bare-bottom SPS tanks because they don't need sand and are from high-flow areas.
-They really prefer "low-tech" methods, like a dripper vs doser, because they believe they are less likely to fail
-Lots of EcoTech hardware, primarily their LED lights called Radions.
-They use UV sterilizers and ozone generators to promote oxidation, increases oxygen, help reduce bacterial infections, increase water clarity, and reduce parasites.
-They medicate all carpet anemones, Ritteri, and long tentacle anemones for bacterial infections which is something you would not think to do. Usually medications and inverts just dont mix!
-The rare peppermint angel goes for $25,000!
